Aluna George – Attracting Flies

This one is easy to categorize. It’s pop. Perfect summer guilty pleasure pop. With flute. Who doesn’t love flute?

Jordan Rakei – Selfish

Birthday song. Reggae-influenced R&B soul. A song I wouldn’t have felt cool enough for a few years ago.

Romare – Hey Now (When I Give You All My Lovin’)

This song manages to sample Dizzy Gilespie’s trumpet (I think) and voice (definitely) without feeling like it’s stealing from or taking away from his brilliance. That’s really something.

Cocorosie – Lemonade

More mystical dream pop, today courtesy of the sister-sister duo Cocorosie. Their music is hauntingly pretty. Happy Sunday.

Elephant – Skyscraper

This song feels like floating and sounds like hugs.

_MØ_ – Pilgrim

_MØ_ – Pilgrim Modern, bass and horn-driven, female-led dream pop from Copenhagen. “All the time I just want to let go.”
